Ozone Therapy is Tough on Bacteria
Janssen Dental uses ozone therapy as a disinfection tool prior to many treatments for appropriate patients. Ozone is particularly effective in removing decay-causing bacteria on and around your teeth. We also use ozonated water to flush below the gum line for patients with periodontal disease (gum disease).
The science behind ozone therapy is rather simple. Ozone’s negatively charged particles naturally seek to neutralize anything with a positive charge. Guess what typically carries a positive charge – bacteria, viruses, cancer cells, and harmful agents known as free radicals. Ozone destroys these positively charged targets and disinfects the area.
Ozone therapy is a quick, non-invasive treatment method that does not require numbing or drilling. It is an ideal treatment for appropriate patients.
